Denise Smith
Nature Based Artist/Educator

Welcome to our neck of the woods, where materials are foraged and art is created. Denise Smith is a lifelong, self-taught artist educator who recently retired as Art Director for a thriving art program for adults with intellectual disabilities.

Her deep connection with the woodlands of New England is expressed in her artwork and crafts. Being in the woods and creating from the bounty of foraged pinecones, tree bark, leaves, mushrooms and moss has been a healing practice for Denise.

She is inspired to share that passion in workshops that give participants a unique opportunity to see the natural world from a different perspective, as art. Denise offers a variety of unique nature based crafting experiences in public libraries and community art centers throughout CT.
